15 BDC Pensioners and friends came out on June 25th to enjoy some great food at Silks Restaurant and try to win a few pennies betting on the ponies at Hastings Racecourse.
It was a beautiful sunny day and Ray Thomas attended and was again providing lessons for the neophyte betters. Needless to say, most members picked the wrong horses, but a few left with some extra spending money.
All-in-all it was a great outing for those that were able to attend. Hopefully another social event, perhaps a winery tour/tasting, can be scheduled early in the fall so we can update everyone on our adventures over the summer.
